Last night Jason and I went to Goodwill and picked up a new book to add to our collection. It's called Tiffany's Table Manners, and it's from 1961. I have always loved Tiffany's because after being a bit tomboyish growing up, playing on a lot of sports teams and hating to wear anything other than shorts and a tee shirt three times too big, I finally came to the conclusion that it's ok to be girly. I think I always secretly loved lacy blouses and floral skirts, but I didn't grow up with any "girly" women so it always felt out of place. Now I'm 25, wearing mostly dresses and tights, being open about my love of Disney movies, and happy to announce that I no longer feel out of place loving the things I do.
♥ What was your last thrifty find?
Funny how I grew up the same way! Being boyish, and now at 25 I'm finally girlie!

It's much more fun this way, huh? ;)
DeleteI'm glad you decided to wear what you wanted! I've pretty much always dressed in cardigans, jeans, and flats, but I didn't branch out or try new trends like I do now. I thought that being too into fashion made girls look high-maintenance, and I didn't want to seem like that, so I pretended I wasn't really into it, but then I went to college and was surrounded by all these crazy artsy kids and decided to wear what I wanted! Best decision ever!

I always thought the same thing, that being interested in fashion equalled high maintenance. But now I feel like it just shows that you care about yourself and are putting your best foot forward. You and I are kindred spirits my friend. ♥
Deletelooooove that book. i used to work at tiffany and "table manners" was a favorite in our in-house library.
