Balcony

As I look out the window of our one-bedroom apartment, I see autumn at its finest. The leaves here in Walnut Creek are finally starting to change, and I can honestly say I have never seen a more beautiful shade of yellow. Phoenix is napping, I have Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy spinning on the record player, and I am taking a moment for myself before we pick my mom up at the Oakland airport. Tonight we will play games, catch up, and go out to dinner. It will be lovely, but for now I am taking the time to enjoy this moment - soft music, beautiful scenery, and the comfort of knowing nothing else needs to happen except the act of taking it all in.
