Vintage Things + One Hearty Walnut

When we were in Los Angeles, we went to this awesome thrift store called Tini. I heard about this store from {7th House on the Left}. I noticed this tin from across the room, because it looked so familiar. My family uses the same tin to put our Christmas cookies in. When we got back home to Arizona I told my mom about it, and she gave it to me! I can't wait to keep the tradition going, and put all of our Christmas cookies in it.

A few Christmas' ago my brother gave me his old camera. Jason and I have been learning how to use it, and now we just need some rolls of film and a nice afternoon {weather permitting}. I'm really excited, because I've never used such a good manual camera before.

This is my grandmother's old typewriter. I feel so lucky to have it! Jason and I tried to find out how old it is and we think it's somewhere between the 1920's and the 1930's. We are going to order some ribbon and play around with this thing. I think it will be so fun to leave little notes on it for each other.

I smiled so much when I saw the words "I love you" embedded in the the platen of the typewriter. I wonder who it was meant for. I'll never forget that.

There is nothing vintage about these two products, but they are new to me and I couldn't wait to share. I've always wanted to try something from LUSH. And there is something so happy about this color pink. The shade is called "Primrose Hill Picnic".

My brother gave us a huge bag a walnuts. I cracked this one open and it looked like a heart. I thought it was cute.

♥ Do you have a vintage item that means a lot to you?

  1. I love everything vintage! Thrift stores are amazing. I have a HUGE wooden vintage vanity. It has one big center mirror, and two side mirrors, as well as four drawers and a little jewelry drawer attached to it. It's over 100 years old; I love it so much.

    1. That sounds amazing! Was it passed down in your family, or did you discover it yourself? I love thrift stores too :)

the only thing that could be called vintage in my room would probably be my grandmother's old radio.... however, I have no idea how old it actually is^^

  4. That's so lovely! I need to go thritting more often. I wish I had some kind of tradition to pass a long to the future children...and its going to sound depressing - but since my mother passed away there really isnt much as far as traditions go. Its as if everyone forgot all the things we use to do. Silly really. But that's it. I would like to start something of my own though;) create my own traditions!

P.s. thanks for commenting on my blog! I hope you find your way back to Oregon again! It really is a lovely place;)

    1. I'm so sorry about your mom. I don't think it's ever too late to start a tradition. It would be great to start your own :)

I loved your blog! I hope to go to Oregon someday soon. Even when I was little I could tell it was a peaceful place.

    1. It's going to be funny to go to the store to buy film again, because it's been 4 or 5 years. I know I am very lucky that he gave me his camera :)
